Thomas Smith

June 19, 1930 — October 23, 2017

Thomas “Tom” Smith, 87, loving husband of Cledith A. Wright Smith for 26 years, left his earthly home on Monday, Oct. 23.  A native of Hamilton, Ohio he was born June 19, 1930, to the late Eschol and Lorena Kelly Smith.  Tom was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church where he enjoyed using his talents in woodworking to benefit the Church and serving many hours at the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.  Tom retired after many years in construction, giving him time to enjoy his fishing and watching the Notre Dame football team, of which he was an avid fan.  He was honored to become a Kentucky Colonel.  He leaves his legacy with his son Sean Smith and memories with sisters Mary Griss, husband Dick and Linda Catherine Hunter, husband John, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  He also leaves behind his fur baby Inky Dinky Smith, whom he adored. He was preceded in death by a sister Faye Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, Oct. 31, at St. Luke Catholic Church. His family will greet friends starting at 6:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service to start at 7:30 PM at the Church. They will also greet friends on Tuesday starting at 10:00 AM.  Tom will be laid to rest in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full Military Honors, as he was a US Air Force Veteran.  Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home is proud to serve Tom’s family and honor him as a veteran.
