Nicholasville: Virginia Carter Rose, 96, died Oct. 5, 2006, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. She was a native of Jessamine County, born March 19, 1910 to the late Luther Carter and Allie T. Easley Carter. She was the widow of Harry Garnet ‘Mutt’ Rose, who died in 1969. Virginia was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church, Lena Madison Phillips Business Women’s Club, United Way, and was a retired Secretary for the Chief of Staff at the VA Hospital. At one time she owned a dress shop which she operated from her home and sponsored many style shows. Virginia loved to travel and visited many European counties with India being her favorite place. She was always very active and involved in the community she loved. She is survived by 2 nieces, Anne Gautier, Bobbie Lafollotte, 3 great nieces, Holly McCourt, Kelly McCourt, Heidi Schweder, 2 great nephews, Beau Gautier, Frank Gautier, and Brandon Schweder, Piper Schweder, Jayden Gautier. She also leaves behind numerous cousins and friends.
