Violet Fayne McQuerry, 101, entered into eternal rest Thursday, Sept 4, at the Norton Hosparus in Louisville. She was the widow of Clyde McQuerry who died in 1977. Violet was a native of Jessamine County born June 2, 1913, to the late Manford And Daisy Easley Fayne. Violet retired from Montgomery Ward where she worked in the Credit Department, was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, a member for over 50 years of the Senior Citizen Homemakers, the RSVP program, volunteer in the Hospice Thrift Store, member of the Senior Citizen Choir and has crocheted 200 afghans. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Phyllis Mathews, husband Ken, son Herbert Ray McQuerry, 11 grandchildren Ron McQuerry, Steve McQuerry, Sherry Gardner, Craig Mathews, Cynthia Gonzalez, Sarah McCann, Macon McQuerry, Michelle Hollingsworth, Tracy Alligood, Debbie Grubb and Dillon McQuerry, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Elizabeth Neale McQuerry, son Ronald Fayne McQuerry, granddaughter Brooke McQuerry, great grandson Patrick McQuerry, sister Hazel Phillips, brothers Ray, Ralph, and Bill Fayne. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, Sept. 6, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of Service on Saturday. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family members will honor her as pallbearers. One can make donations to the Norton Hosparus in Louisville.
