Wilmore: Virgil Edward Bowers 92, of Thomason Hood Veterans Center formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, died Thursday, July 10, at Thomason Hood. He was born July 18, 1915, to the late Clarance and Lillis Ashy Bowers in Bicknell, Indiana. He was the widow of Elva Olderbaum Bowers. Virgil was a retired employee of Excell Corporation in Indiana where he was a millwright and a veteran the US Marines serving during WWII. Survivors include a daughter Penny Straw, step daughter Ollie G. Sandefur, Lexington, 2 sisters Mary Coffey and Virginia Wood, grandchildren which include Gretchen Davis, Wilmore, and Annette Minix, Salyersville, and 8 great grandchildren.
