Virginia Thompson Jennette

Virginia Jennette, 88, widow of Julian Jennette since 2010, entered into eternal rest Tuesday July 12, at Baptist Health Care Center. She was a native of Jessamine County, born to the late Harry H. and Liza B. Sutton Thompson on December 1, 1927. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker and farmer and loved gardening, crocheting, reading, and sunning on her back porch. She was a 4-H Leader for many years, a member of the Beef Cattle Association, and had served on the Jessamine County Fairboard. Virginia leaves many wonderful memories with her children Kathy Walton, husband Gerald; Julian "Bud" Jennette, Jr., wife Beverly; Janice Crouch, husband Carroll; and Harry "Tom" Jennette, wife Laura; grandchildren Jason Walton, wife Karen; Adam Walton, wife Heather; Thomas Walton, wife April; great-grandchildren Courtney Lawson, husband Thomas; Dakota Walton; Landon Walton; Graham Walton; Aiden Walton; Ethan Walton; Elliot Walton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry "Sut" Thompson. A Remembrance Service will be held at 10:00AM Friday, July 15. at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and will be laid to rest with her husband at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Jason, Adam and Thomas Walton, Doug Downing, Mike Thompson and Shang Gibson. Honorary bearers will be Jean Brandenburg, Robert Miller, Howard Downing, and Alvin Underwood. The family will receive friends from 4-8PM Thur. at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to the Camp Nelson Honor Guard or the Salvation Army. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Jennette family.
