Nicholasville: Virginia Bennett Strong, 91, died Thurs., March 13, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. . She was a native of Jessamine County born Oct. 15, 1916, to the late Grover C. and Bryan Warren Warner. She was the widow of Edwin Strong , a member of Nicholasville Christian Church and a former sales clerk for Wolf Wiles Department Store. Survivors include a step daughter Debbie Crutcher, husband Tony and their daughter Carrie of Lexington, nieces Becky Garrett, husband David, Lucy Jackson, husband Jesse, along with other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters Hester Hunter and Rachel Moberly and a brother Virgil Warner.

Services will be 11:00 AM Mon., March 17, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Mandrell officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Garrett, Jesse Jackson, Bryan Jackson, David Wiley, Tony Crutcher, and Denton Willis. Honorary bearer will be George Brumfield. Visitation will be Sun., March 16, from 1 to 4 PM at the funeral home. The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in her memory to one’s favorite charity.
