William Carl Kempster, 89, loving husband of Betty Smith Kempster for 62 years left his earthly home on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020. He was a native Chicago, Illinois, born June 6, 1930, to the late William Alfred and Grace Davidson Kempster. He was a retired sales manager for National Health Labs, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a US Navy veteran, and member of the Episcopal Church of Resurrection. He loved coastal fishing, sailing and gardening. In addition to his wife he will be fondly remembered by his children Jeffery Smith Kempster, wife Genia Marshbanks, and Mary Kempster Rose, husband Edward Bishop Rose, and his only grandson William Bishop Rose. He leaves his childhood memories with brother Donald Barclay Kempster, wife Gail, and sister Marilyn Santucci. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by a sister Regina Dunlop. Cremation was chosen by his family in accordance to his wishes, with a Private Graveside Memorial with Military Honors to be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
