William "Bill" Rhodes Cheek

William "Bill" Rhodes Cheek, 92, formerly of Old Frankfort Ford and Highbridge Road, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Diversicare on Sparks Avenue which had been his residence for several years. Bill was a native of Garrard County born Feb. 24, 1924, to the late Cash and Lizzie Curtis Cheek, being one in a family of ten children. He had been a farmer, having worked on many horse farms and helped in raising tobacco. He loved fishing and enjoyed raising rabbits. He is survived by a daughter Nancy Cheek Cox, daughter-in-law Patricia Cheek, grandchildren Denny Cheek, Teressa Gilliam, Rodney Cheek, Paula C. Hampton, Billy Cheek, and Patrick Cheek, great grand children Tiffany Cheek, Lori Cheek, Robyn Baldridge, David Cheek, CD Cheek, Gracie Cheek, Amy Gilliam, Dishon Gilliam, Willy and Dusty Cheek, great-great grandchildren Weston Cheek, Dalton Becknell, Hailey and Levi Riddell and Cameron Baldridge, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death in 1968 by his wife Pauline Chapman Cheek, sons Wayne Cheek and Denver and daughter-in-law Barbara Cheek, as well as 9 brothers and sisters Stanley, Huey, Ulysses, Garland, Robert, Deanie, Lonzie, Mary, and Flozie. His family has planned his Remembrance Service to be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gillespie officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his late wife Pauline in the Wilmore Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Patrick, Willie, Denny, Rodney, and David Cheek and Dishon Gilliam. Honorary bearers will be Rick Gilliam and Tommy Hampton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 9 PM on Tuesday, May 10 at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome but donations may be made to the funeral home in his memory. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cheek family.
