William "Billy" Garland Hall

William (Billy) Garland Hall, 63, of Nicholasville, passed away March 8, 2015. Billy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Harmon Hall and two sons, William Hall, Jr. (Will) and Brandon Earl (Bear) Hall, and grandchildren, Grant, Evelyn, and Sophia Stone-Hall. Billy is preceded in death by his dad, Earl Hall and his sister, Janet Hall Clem.

Billy grew up in Nicholasville, one of six children of Charlotte and Earl Hall. He graduated in 1970 from Jessamine County High School where he was voted Best All Around and Mr. JCHS by his classmates. Bill worked for the University of Kentucky at Cold Stream Farm following high school followed by several years as a dairy farmer in Garrard County where he worked long, hard hours realizing his dream as a farmer. He has been employed by Blue Grass Energy for 25 years where he made countless meaningful relationships with his Blue Grass Energy family and community. Billy was friendly to everyone he met and will be remembered as having never met a stranger and always responding with a kind heart to help anyone in need.

Billy's love of farming came from the many summers he spent with his Big Mom and Pa on a farm in Bagdad, Kentucky. After leaving the dairy farm, he and Cindy bought some acreage on Crenshaw Lane where he raised some tobacco, cattle, and cared for his dogs and neighbors. He will be remembered and greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers and community.

In addition to his wife and two sons, Billy is survived by his mom, Charlotte Hall; three sisters, Sue Hall Hill and Gerry, Patrice Hall Thompson and C.B., Kathy Hall Blankenship and Chuck; one brother, Earl (Sonny) Hall and Tina; brother-in-law, Leslie Clem; sister-in-laws Kim Carter Oatts and David, Lynn Hanna and Pat, Jean Ann Harmon Shaw; nieces and nephews, Troy Hall, Tevis Thompson, Tessa Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Christina (Kiki) Blankenship Spann and Ben, Billy Blankenship and MacKenzie, Tiffany Clem Allen and J.R., Kaitlyn Clem, McKenzie Clem, Tyler Oatts, Wesley Oatts, Crystal Ivey, and Stacey Dailey. He was preceded in death by two nieces, Alicia Hall and Jennifer Hall, and a nephew, Les Clem.

Pallbearers will be John Allender, Harvey Crow, Randy East, Danny Preston, Robert Williams, and Roy Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Billy's co-workers at Blue Grass Energy who honored him with the following tribute:

If you noticed the stars shining a little brighter last night, it is because Heaven gained a new lineman yesterday. Our Blue Grass Energy family member, first-class lineman, William G. Hall suddenly passed away and our prayers are with his family.

Our hearts are broken at our co-op. We know we won't hear that belly laugh or mumbling voice tell another funny story; but your storms and trouble calls are over, Billy. Your hooks are hung up and your belt is needed no more. Rest in peace our friend.
