William “Will” Michael Perkins, 37, son of William B. and Jody M. Perkins, left his earthly home unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan.9, 2020.  He was born August 11, 1982, in Lexington, but lived most of his life in Paris.  In 2000 he entered the US Marines and after serving a year, he later entered the US Army, having served a tour in Iraq.   Will loved spending time with family especially his children, Sophia Katherine and William Michael, Jr., hunting and fishing.  In addition to his mother,  father, and children, he leaves to  cherish his memory paternal grandmother Mary Katherine Perkins, and maternal grandmother Sharon Miner, brother Craig Thomas Perkins, sister Christina Marie Smith, husband Anthony, nieces and nephew Liam Thomas and Penelope Monroe Perkins, Lilli Marie Smith, Christian Dodge Smith and Silis Hawke Smith, as well as numerous other family members.  He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Freddie Lee Perkins and maternal grandfather Charles K. Jefferson.  A Graveside Remembrance will be held 12:30 PM on Monday, Jan. 13 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Military Honors.  His family request donations be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.  “Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, missed and very dear”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust given to us by the Perkins family to care for their loved one.
