William "Billy" Ray Turner

The Turner family has lost a fun loving member of their family. William "Billy" Ray Turner has joined the love of his life Patsy Turner in eternal rest. Billy Ray was a native of Woodford County born Oct. 21, 1937, to the late William Thornsberry and Patricia B. Upton Turner. He was one of two sons, the other being Elbert "G" Turner who preceded him in death last year. He had been a Deacon and member of Mt. Freedom Baptist Church and a former employee of Lexington-Fayette County Fire Department Station #4 and Lantern Delivery Systems. A fun loving guy Billy Ray loved the times he and the family spent boating and fishing on Herrington Lake with friends and watching UK ballgames. His passion was always finding a way to trade cars. The car that took you to school or shopping might not be the one that picked you up to go home. His children enjoyed all the laughter that went along with being with their father. The memories he leaves with his children Donald G. (Robbin) Turner, Vicki Ray Turner, Lisha Ann Turner (John LaFevers), John William (Laurie) Turner, his 7 grandchildren, his numerous great grandchildren and his one great-great grandchild as well as his sister-in-law Helen Turner and good friends Martha Sue Turner and Edward Elliott will never be forgotten. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, Feb. 5, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved Patsy in Wilmore Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Richard and Robert Halderman, Chuck Lanham, Randy Johnson, Bobby Miracle and Don Armentrout. Honorary bearers will be David Elliott, Clay Tankersley, and Edward Elliott. His family will greet friends from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home.
