Judith Rebecca Taylor Goddard, 85, widow of Mark Goddard, Sr. since 2004, joined him in eternal rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was a native of Beckley, WV, born September 22, 1938, the only child of Arthur and Katherine Lilly Taylor. Judy was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church, where she was a member of Adult Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a retired bank teller from Bank of Commerce, where she met her husband. Going to the races with her husband was an activity they shared, but her passion was shopping and animals—especially her chocolate lab Abby. She leaves her memories with her loving son Mark and his wife Michelle, as well as her grandchildren Emily and Matthew Goddard, who were both the light of her life. She will be missed by her special friend Linda Travis and her friends at the Willows in Harrodsburg. Judy’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the kindness and care she received while a resident at the Willows. A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM Monday April 29, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Brother Mike Canada officiating, following which she will be laid to rest with her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Randy Travis, Gary Burdine, Allan Taylor, Craig Wilson, Greg Hobson, and Tommy Cobb. Honorary Bearers will be the Mt. Lebanon Adult Sunday School Class. The family will greet friends on Sunday April 28, beginning at 2:00 until 7:00 PM. Donations may be made in her memory to the Jessamine County Animal Care and Control. “There are not enough words to describe just how important my Mother was to me and what a powerful influence she continues to be. Mother, I Love You.” Hager & Cundiff values the trust and friendship given to us by Judy’s family.
